This potent little heartstarter began to attract more of my attention about a month ago after returning from a significant retreat weekend and progression through the initiation door that had been opened 9 months (well really 20months) prior.
foxglove (n.)
Old English foxes glofa, literally "fox's glove." The flower shape is that of the finger of a glove (compare German Fingerhut "foxglove," literally "thimble," the source of digitalis). The reason for fox is lost in the mute past of English herb-lore. Compare Old English plant names foxesfot ("fox's foot") "xiphion;" foxesclate ("fox's bur") "burdock."
digitalis (n.) species of tall herbs native to Europe and western Asia, 1660s, a Modern Latin translation of German fingerhut, the German name of the plant, a transferred use of the German word for "thimble," literally "finger-hat," the plant so called for the bell-shape of the flowers. Compare the English name, foxglove. The Latin name was given by Fuchs (1542). The medicine (originally extracted from the plant) is so called from 1799.

brief Pharmaceutical Background
[side note, the hygeia is the name of the well-renowned symbol for health or medicine, as used by many large corporations. might send them some foxglove frequency to regulate that pulse over there - also more links to snakes-as with daffodil profile-, not surprising especially at the moment}
To pull in some brief pharmacy relating to digoxin, a well-used synthetic medicine for heart failure and to improve pulse rate which is based off the therapeutics effects of digitalis (DIG-(t)oxin DIG-italis). Initially digoxin was isolated from digitalis ianata.
When learning about this medicine (and practising with it obviously) it was drummed into students, perhaps even taught in a seperate module from memory, about this medicine being a potentially lethal drug given it's narrow therapeutic window. This means that the drug has a very small range that it works in and give too much and it is likely to cause severe toxicity. As well, it's extremely easy to accidentally miscalculate these effects as foods and supplements, smoking or alcohol can pronounce its effects.

Electromagnetic Pulse: high-intensity electromagnetic radiation generated especially by a nuclear blast high above the earth's surface and held to disrupt electronic and electrical systems. {funny this comes up today as we've had about 4 M class flares go off increasing as the day has gone on starting over the US before dawn here in Aust and increasingly intensifying as the day has gone on}. ASTROLOGY & ASTEROIDS

Star Witch Astrology posted this on instagram the day after returning from this huge unlocking of heart space and doorway open where a lot of anger and resentment is releasing to make more and more space for heart expansions.
For my natal chart in particular, this Goddess of Cleanliness, Hygiene and Preventative Medicine (love her, some purification required for her full gloriful return) falls in 11 capricorn 7th house. I am cautiously welcoming to this conjunction with pluto retrograde and, actually this transit has been building the last few months - probably needed the time to 1/allow parties to make intently purposefully aligned choices, harmoniously and now as I work through this transit and coming in to his solar return next month, I must say bring it all up to face it and let's move on. We've definitely held each other out there naked and exposed to each other. With a 5.5yr orbit I'm not repeating cycles for hygeia's return, we got stuff to do! New chapter feels in the air too.
To get back to foxglove, being that poisonous plant, secretive qualities. While poisonous I call in purified aspects of the pharmacy and physiology knowledge in this physical field to reverberate throughout the bodies, that this heart is well and truly STARTED.
On a business level, I even less surprised she is present with this plant and medicine. It's actually one of the best looking plants in the garden right now! And, my sacred commerce divine worky work could help with those defib paddles on it! No, it's fine but not shy of it's own set of shadow work. I'm for sure calling in big things and pulling a lot through - and wouldn't have it any other way!
FOXGLOVE MAGICK:
Venus (of course it is relevant for me. Massive massive venus shadow clearing now, still strong virgo aspects on way out as well I have 4 aspects sun moon mercury and venus in virgo in my tropical natal). Feminine. Water. Venus has featured quite prominently in the other plant news especially these last few months.

I have such a warm part in my heart for Greece. It's extremely familar, more so than Italy - that I had the absolute pleasure of visiting three times now. I'd love to live for a few months, someday. I did a summer on a Greek Island, not one of the 'typical' ones, but a fantastic British Summer destination all the same. Zakinthos lies just south of the coast of Epirus, on the western coast of Greece.
